Protection Driver Services

The protection driver is an essential part of a Close Protection team. The role of the Protection Driver is not only to drive you to and from your destination, but to have pre-planned alternate routes, scan constantly for emerging threats and hostile surveillance as well as having the skills to respond effectively to potential collisions be they accidental or premeditated.

Whilst parked or waiting for you the driver is still scanning the environment and identifying threats that may need to be responded to.  As all of our drivers are trained by government agencies, they have had the highest level of training and better yet the experience of application in operation.

Whilst the use of the protective driver service alone provides the lowest level of personal protection many of our esteemed clients find this service to be their preferred option because:

  • It free’s up their time and allows them to attend to business whilst they are travelling,
  • Removes the hassle of parking and places them right at the front door of every location they need to attend.
  • It provides peace of mind knowing a trained operative is just outside ready to respond if needed should any incident arise, without the overt presence of an operative next to our clients constantly.

As such Our Protection Driver Service is a perfect option for an individual that is deemed to be low risk and wants discrete professional protection and convenience.

Outside of this however the Protection Driver is often a specialist role within the protection team for our clients. Their role whilst less visible to the general public, dovetails perfectly into the overall protection teams objectives and capabilities. Protection Drivers are trained to provide the client and the protection team with seamless transitions from location to location, minimising exposure to risks during arrival, departure and in transit and providing at times the greatest possible risk mitigation available.

In fact, the role of the Protection Driver is so important if more than a single operative is needed or the risk is deemed to be medium to high then the protection driver is usually the second person to be added to the team above other essential roles.

Your car or mine?

Often our team are asked by clients if we provide a vehicle for their use or if we drive the clients vehicle. Like many things the answer is not always simple.

Many of our clients that reside or frequent Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane have their own vehicles which they prefer we utilised. This provides a level of comfort and prestige that the client enjoys. As such our drivers can drive your vehicle for you as long as:

  • We are provided with express permission,
  • The vehicle is roadworthy
  • The vehicle is registered appropriately.

There are times when we would recommend against this however. At times when the client may be at greater risk we often offer to provide the vehicle for the client. The benefit to this is that the vehicle can be changed regularly, and the principal (the client) is not easily identified when travelling and this reduces the possibility of the use of covert tracking devices. In addition, if you are travelling from interstate or overseas it is often not feasible to bring your vehicle. As such we provide Luxury SUV’s for your comfort and safety during your travels.
